DNS Setup Checklist
Step-by-step records to point myfirstwishdaycare.com at Lovable.
Required DNS records
Add these at your domain registrar. Lovable IP: 185.158.133.1.
| Type | Name | Value | TTL | Proxy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | @ | 185.158.133.1 Root domain → Lovable | Auto / 3600 | DNS only |
| A | www | 185.158.133.1 www subdomain → Lovable | Auto / 3600 | DNS only |
| TXT | _lovable | lovable_verify=… (copy exact value from Lovable setup dialog) Domain ownership verification | Auto / 3600 | — |
Using Cloudflare or a similar proxy?
If your domain is on Cloudflare, you have two options:
- Recommended: Set the orange cloud to DNS only (grey cloud) for both A records, so Lovable can issue SSL directly.
- Or keep it Proxied (orange cloud) and, in Lovable's Connect Domain dialog, expand Advanced and check "Domain uses Cloudflare or a similar proxy". This switches verification to CNAME-based.
In Cloudflare SSL/TLS settings, use Full mode (not Flexible) once Lovable has issued the certificate.
Step-by-step
- 1
Publish the project at least once
In Lovable, click Publish. A custom domain can only be connected after the first publish.
- 2
Open Project Settings → Domains in Lovable
Click Connect Domain and enter myfirstwishdaycare.com. Keep this dialog open — you'll need the exact _lovable TXT value it shows.
- 3
Log in to your domain registrar's DNS panel
Go to the DNS / Nameservers section for myfirstwishdaycare.com. If you use Cloudflare, see the Cloudflare note below before adding records.
- 4
Add the A records
Add an A record for @ (root) and another for www, both pointing to 185.158.133.1. Remove any conflicting A or CNAME records on @ or www that point elsewhere.
- 5
Add the _lovable TXT record
Add a TXT record with name _lovable and the exact value shown in the Lovable dialog (starts with lovable_verify=). Only one _lovable TXT record should exist.
- 6
Add www explicitly in Lovable
In Project Settings → Domains, also add www.myfirstwishdaycare.com. Pick one as Primary; the other will redirect.
- 7
Wait for DNS propagation
Usually minutes, sometimes up to 72 hours. Check progress at dnschecker.org. Lovable status will move Verifying → Setting up → Active.
- 8
Click Retry in Lovable if status doesn't update
Once dnschecker.org shows 185.158.133.1 globally, hit Retry / Try again in the Domains panel.
Verify your records
Check that DNS has propagated globally before retrying in Lovable.
